John C. Perry’s remarkable Air Racing career includes four Reno Unlimited Gold Championships and two Phoenix Gold Championships earned over thirty seven years of dedication to his sport. Flying a Grumman Bearcat under the “Rare Bear” Racing Team colors, John set seven qualifying speed records while competing in National Events, and piloted the first piston powered, propeller driven aircraft to exceed 500 MPH on a closed course with a qualifying speed of 503 MPH at Reno in 1996.
